Primary Responsibilities:
The Director of UCD for Tax will have or will quickly acquire an in-depth knowledge of all Intuit products, web properties, and services. In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced and team-based. The Director must be an expert communicator, able to lead teams comprising diverse members, and be able to envision and drive Tax?s overall UI direction.
* Leads UCD projects by guiding, defining, and prioritizing team's work and project strategies and mentoring personnel
* Ensures a positive, collaborative work environment for the team
* Prioritizing the focus of UCD work to align with corporate goals and business objectives (critical few; high-return projects)
* Planning and proposing innovative changes to Intuit?s UI design, information architecture, development processes, and organizational capabilities/structure that will result in cost savings and increased revenues (shortterm and longterm plans)
* Managing all run-the-business aspects of the UCD department (budgets, forecasts, personnel, reporting)
* Monitor external human factors, ergonomics, and HCI research, standards, inventions, and trends for potential opportunities for Intuit products.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required in the social sciences, humanities, business, or human centered design. Minimum of 10 years related work experience. Proven leadership in the User Experience industry within recent years.
* Minimum 10 years of related experience
* Excellent command of User Experience methods (across research and design)
* Excellent problem-framing skills
* Excellent team leadership skills
* Excellent verbal and written skills
* Strong sense of process and the ability to innovate on process tools and conventions
* Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams
