Subject: Vacancy: fixed-term 1-year contract for an IA, Oxford UK, IRO £35-40K (UKP)
Hello everyone,
We are looking for an Information Architect to join an expanding IA team based in our busy and friendly centrally-located Oxford office. We can offer you a good mix of both interesting and challenging work across the full IA project life-cycle, and the opportunity to tackle some complex usability issues at the heart of online information businesses.
Our clients are academic or professional content providers, who are seeking to maximise their markets through the Internet. We offer them a range of solutions, some of which are “out of the box” products, and others which are bespoke website builds – but all of which need professional information architecture to ensure they meet the customer's requirements and are both user-friendly and scalable.
We are looking for someone to join us full-time for a 1 year-fixed term contract, who can demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and experience with information architecture and business analysis methodology, and ideally has experience of working with print and online publications. You will, of course, be a creative thinker who has no trouble prioritising complex tasks, and you work well under pressure. Project management experience, knowledge of SGML/XML and appreciation of the issues surrounding information commerce are an added bonus.
You will have several years’ experience as a business analyst or information architect, and you will probably have a bachelor's degree in psychology, communications, human computer interaction, computer science, or a related field.
The bulk of your work will involve analysing complex information projects, writing information architecture reports, developing appropriate visualisations of information in conjunction with design staff, and writing functional specifications. In addition to advising sales staff in proposal development and pricing, you will also be working with producers and project managers to ensure a smooth transition of projects from initial concept through information architecture and design, to final development and production.
We are looking to get someone in post as soon as possible in the new year.
To apply, or to ask for further details, please email either me
(sam.phillips at ingenta.com) or our HR department (susan.corry at ingenta.com), including a covering letter and a standard CV. We hope to interview in the week commencing 12th January.
Cheers and festive greetings,
:o)
Sam
