Contract Opening: Graphic Designer for Interactive TV Software
Minerva's iTV Manager application features a customizable client interface that provides access to a suite of services including live television, video-on-demand, and web access. It is compatible with any IP enabled set-top box or PC client.
We are looking for a highly creative graphics designer to create unique and compelling graphics for this multimedia management software. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering on designing, redesigning, and prototyping the graphics for the iTV Manager Client interface and other engineering projects. You should have experience with developing TV graphics or video game console graphics with the latest graphics design tools.
Specific duties include:
· Producing computer graphics and user interface designs for
Interactive TV services
· Producing conceptual storyboards and mock-ups as needed
· Actively participating with Engineering team coders, as well as
Engineering goals and development to incorporate design into dynamic client/server system
· Assisting in estimating task times and keeping on schedule
· Taking visual information from several different sources and
applying that information to create timely and impressive interfaces
· Producing HTML pages based on Interface Designs
· Competitive Analysis
· Driving usability test and user survey/interview
Candidate should be comfortable working in a development environment and interfacing on a regular basis with cross-functional teams - Engineering, Marketing, etc. Candidate should have good communication skills, written and oral and be open to constructive criticism. Candidate should have a lot of usability experience for the masses.
Skills Required:
Previous experience in broadcast TV graphics
Understanding of NTSC/PAL television standards and color-spaces
Previous experience working in a team environment, i.e., sharing resources and maintaining graphics using a source control system (VSS, CVS, etc.)
Thorough knowledge of Photoshop, HTML, and Javascript
Skills Preferred: Flash development environments
