Mobile UI Designer - London

My client is a small but rapidly growing consultancy that specialises in Mobile Software / Platform technology and they currently have a vacancy for a UI designer to join the team.
Your key tasks will include:
* Conducting competitor analyses and other design intelligence activities
* Author and maintain specifications
* Produce design collateral
* Deploy strategic design skills to delight the end user whilst avoiding development problems
* Participate in creative design sessions
* Communicate with appropriate client personnel
* Collaborate with other designers and colleagues from development and test
* Observe and evaluate the results of usability studies
* Assist in the development of a company design culture
Skills and experience:
* Experience of the mobile software / handset market, specifically in the interface design for mobile devices.
* The ability to ask appropriate questions of clients, co-designers, developers and testers in order to inform design decisions
* Understanding of the role of design in the project lifecycle and the ability to contribute throughout
* Experience of producing application specifications including embedded assets such as example screenshots and flow diagrams
Desirable skills
* The ability to produce interactive prototypes using tools such as director or flash desirable
* Knowledge of the Symbian platform
* Knowledge of principles of OO programming
* Customer-facing experience, combining relationship-building skills with the honesty, integrity and credibility to inspire confidence and trust in demanding customers
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £30 – 45,000 depending on experience
