As a UI Designer for Watchfire, your role is to make a positive impact on the web user experience where it starts: in the design of solutions to monitor and improve website quality! The Watchfire User Interaction Design team has an immediate opening for a user interaction designer to meet the challenge of designing next-generation Online Business Management solutions.
The Challenge - to represent the user at every stage of product development:
- To be an advocate for the people who use our products, possessing a keen interest in studying them and their work.
- To collaborate with product management, developers, and other key stakeholders to foster an environment where user needs can drive design.
- To apply knowledge of user needs, capabilities, and limitations into the design of next-generation Online Business Management solutions.
- To build prototypes to communicate your vision for our users' experience.
- To follow your design through implementation, and to assist in the development of implementation standards.
Your Profile - a staunch and knowledgeable user advocate:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Human Factors, Psychology, Computer Science or Cognitive Science.
- Two or more years' experience in representing the user in design (user and task analysis, user interface or interaction design, usability evaluation)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and expertise in the following areas are essential:
-The User Centred Design process
- User and task analysis
- User Interaction Design
- Web-based product design
- Low and high fidelity prototyping
- Knowledge and expertise in the following areas are a plus:
- Graphical design for the web and Windows
- Documentation of detailed UI specifications, and design standards, principles, and guidelines.
