Apps Dev Tool User Interface Designer/RW
Location: Redwood Shores, CA
Provide user interface design support for Oracle application development products.
Oracle is the first software company to develop and deploy 100 percent internet-enabled enterprise software across its entire product line:
database, server, enterprise business applications, and application development and decision support tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with multidisciplinary development teams, will spearhead user interface design in conceptualization, design, and development of Oracle's application development products. Responsiblities include identifying requirements, developing user model, designing and prototyping UI for interaction, developing and maintaining UI specifications and guidelines, communicating with development team to evangelize UI design directions and resolve design tradeoffs and implementation issues. Will collaborate closely with usability engineers to conduct necessary front-end research and support usability efforts throughout the product development cycle. Also work closely with visual designers to achieve optimal visual appearance of products. Mentor junior user interface designers and student interns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have Master's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or other related discipline.
* Must have at least 3 years of experience in the software industry.
* Design examples for application development tools a must.
* Portfolio available for review a must.
* Strong conceptual skills and demonstrated ability to prototype and design elegant UI solutions to user problems.
* Proven track record in applying user-centered design processes and methods to product development.
* Strong communication and people skills in working in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment.
* Software development experience with object oriented languages (e.g.,
C++, Java) a plus.
