TRAVELOCITY INFORMATION ARCHITECT

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

TITLE: Information Architect II

DEPT: Customer Experience - User Interface

REPORTS TO: Senior Information Architect


POSITION PURPOSE

As part of the Customer Experience/User Interface team, the Information Architect II (IA) is responsible for collaborating with other Information Architects, Functional Architects, User Interface Design, Product Management and Product Development teams to create and maintain use cases, page/site architecture, logic flow diagrams, site flow diagrams and wireframes.


ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES

* Assist Senior Information Architects in completing detail work for projects
* Work closely with Product Marketing and Product Development to develop the user interface for new site features and enhancements that meet business objectives
* Create prototypes, functional specification documents, navigational structures and labeling systems
* Develop use case scenarios, flow diagrams, site maps, wireframes and control/action/response tables
* Collaborate with Functional Architect to define transition points from user-facing to backend processes
* Work with User Interface designers to translate wireframes into prototypes and visual compositions
* Provide input for user research and usability test plans
* Work with the Product Development to help manage the transition from designs into functioning products-through development, testing, and launch
* Conduct pre-launch review of projects to ensure accurate execution and positive user experience


QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC:
Bachelor's degree preferred, (BA, BS or BFA) in graphic design, library sciences, computer science, interaction design, design planning, literature, communications, or human-centered design preferred.

GENERAL SKILLS:
* Ability to collaborate visually and facilitate the visual representation of concepts
* Advanced knowledge of user behavior and site technical organization and operations
* Ability to quickly learn new processes and tools
* Experience with internet technologies including but not limited to HTML, Java, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS used to create optimum user experience in a ROI environment
* Prefer experience with application design
* Working knowledge of Visio
* Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent verbal and written skills

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Two to five years experience in Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Human Factors Engineering or Cognitive Science.

Southlake is near Northwest of DFW airport between Dallas & Ft Worth.
