Interaction Design Director
Location: Nike's World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon
Lead and direct the usability of Nike's digital products and services to achieve business objectives and product/service excellence.
Direct and Coordinate:
Drive Nike's internal and external partners to implement interaction solutions for product, desktop, and web related applications. Create all specifications necessary to fully communicate design intent of software to engineering teams for implementation.
Vision:
Acts as the user experience design conscience for Nike's technology business. Responsible for the usability of our digital products, software and services. Create the vision and communicate vision to internal and external partners.
Innovate and create:
Deliver innovative User Interface's to foster growth for the business. Drive an inline and advanced design effort to seek out new ideas, technologies. Work to cultivate new concepts and implement them.
Strategic planning:
Looks for ways to meet current and future business goals. Work across all groups to help evangelize holistic initiatives (footwear, apparel, equipment, and dotcom).
Prepare short and long term presentations to clearly communicate our direction.
Team Building: Build a world-class interaction team to meet the needs of the business.
Provide day-to-day management and mentoring for the team. Constantly evaluates team structure and optimizes for efficiency. Provide performance appraisals, salary administration, resolving employee issues and other human resource decisions.
Presentation/influencing:
Use strong presentation skills to influence internal and external teams.
Create interactive demo's to clearly communicate concepts, specifications, and strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Design related field (ideally Industrial Design). Master's Degree in Interaction Design preferred.
10+ years of Design/Commercialization experience at the senior creative level. 5+ years of professional interaction design experience. Prior experience leading or managing a creative team required.
Desktop, product and web interface creation is required.
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio) and Lotus Notes
*Experience designing website and application interfaces
*Knowledge of interactive development tools
*HTML knowledge preferred
*General knowledge of programming and database concepts and options
Prior management and/or creative team lead experience
