Job Description
Candidate will lead the user research activities for Roxio consumer products. Reporting to the Director of Product Design this candidate will be responsible to initiate, coordinate and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to identify user needs and usability issues and communicate recommendations to the product team. This research includes field studies, user data collection, heuristic evaluations and usability tests. Candidate will have cross product functions and should be able to evaluate the usability of product concepts, workflows, interaction and visual designs. Candidate will be responsible for delivering usability and other user research plans, recruiting users, conducting tests, reporting and prioritizing issues, and proposing recommendations. This position also includes team management responsibilities.
Requirements
4 years minimum of experience in software usability. BS or MS (Ph.D a plus) or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Software Interface Design, Cognitive Psychology, or related field. Candidate has experience in evaluating the usability of desktop software and web sites for consumer market. Candidate has a good understanding of the user centered design process. Candidate has a strong ability to plan and design user research processes to address user experience needs. Candidate has experience using different usability evaluation techniques and tools. Candidate must be efficient and effective in performing such task as evaluating project usability needs, planning usability tasks, recruiting users, managing usability lab, running tests, analyzing test data, presenting and prioritizing test results and submitting design recommendations. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
