Instructional Technologist [position announcement]
Franklin Pierce College is seeking an experienced individual to join our academic community. The Instructional Technologist will work directly with faculty in the promotion, conceptualization, development and application of well-designed, pedagogically sound technology applications to enhance classroom teaching, learning outcomes, and faculty development. This is an exempt 12-month position funded through June of 2006, reporting to the Director of Library Services. Candidates will have to demonstrate advanced, current knowledge of pertinent applications and technologies including web authoring, graphic design, course management systems, web-based training, digitization, and standard desktop and presentation applications. This individual will be responsible for collaborative work with all sectors of an academic community and the supervision of student assistants.
Qualifications include a master's degree in educational or instructional technology or a closely related field. A specialization in instructional design or curriculum development desired. Minimum of one year's experience in the application of instructional technology in an academic setting required, higher education strongly preferred. Teaching, training, project management, supervisory, and assessment experience strongly desired. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound discretion and consistent professionalism required.
