Job Description: Opening for a Senior User Interface Designer in the AOL Product Design Prototyping group. This group excels in rapid prototypying; developing semi-functional demos of current and forward thinking products predominantly in Flash. The Senior UI needs established user experience skills. Ability to work in dynamic small team with very quick turnaround. A thinker and a doer.
A person who can fix the current and think of the future. Creativity: Applies technical knowledge to determine solutions and solves complex problems. Uses extensive background in user interface, product and multimedia design, scripting and knowledge of prototyping and multiple platforms to develop software interfaces. Uses experience and analysis to develop creative and innovative solutions. Identifies trends that will have an impact on the work unit or particular product and articulates implications. Creates Wireframes, use cases toward creation of a functional prototype. Business Skills: Functions as a project lead; defines task, resources, and time required to complete a medium to large size project which could involve cross- organizational work groups. Maintains solid relationships with key internal and external clients. Uses advanced skills to identify and develop new initiatives. Actively solicits client feedback to ensure that all activities and deliverables meet expectations. Manages projects efficiently and effectively Primary user interface consultant for the team; defines guidelines and standards for projects as well as work unit. Consults on user interface issues during conceptualization and design phase. Leads, trains and guides team of Interface Designers. Provides and receives constructive performance feedback. Communicates and mentors other interface designers Personal Performance and AOL Valued Behaviors Demonstrates AOLʼs vision, values, and principles. Articulates opinions and helps guide work unit. Effectively interprets and acts on all customer needs of increased complexity. Coordinates with others outside of own department to meet customer needs. Identifies areas for possible improvements and proactively addresses problems. Interacts internally/externally on daily basis to achieve department/work unit goals and initiatives. Uses communications skills to influence decisions. Collaborates with team members to develop new ideas and usable applications. Works independently but recognizes when collaboration is required.

Job Requirements: Uses knowledge associated with Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Approximately 4-6 years directly related experience in designing software applications and online and consumer software product interfaces.
Demonstrates ability to develop new processes and approaches. Communicates complex information to a wide variety of individuals and groups. Handles questions about complex material easily and persuasively. Acts as a recognized and active resource on user interface design issues and computer/human interaction for others in the company. Coordinates with development to create solutions or address additional needs for advanced functions. Technical Skills: Wireframing, use cases, scenarios: Proficiency in wireframing (preferrably Visio) and use cases a must. Functional specification documents Visio Photoshop
