Schematic is looking to grow it’s roster of designers and animators both contract and full-time
We have some great projects coming in, including interfaces for a new set-top and next generation gaming platform, the interface for a new automobile and several graphics (broadcast and also a new area called playback) for several television networks and series. Therefore, we expect to need full and part-time people to work under contract designing some of our exciting endeavors in interface, graphics and visual system design. This work will be deployed on set-top boxes, gaming platforms and the Internet, as well as embedded within traditional television shows and films. We always hire full-time staff from our pool of contract talent and expect to have several positions available in the coming months to fill.
Candidates must demonstrate strong design skills with experience in several of the following areas: interface design, broadcast design, on-line and broadband design, design for video games and conceptual design. Diverse platform experience will be considered a plus and good communications skills are required.
You will succeed here if you are someone who can adapt quickly to a new environment and has a "can do" philosophy. We are a small but dynamic organization and thus need leaders who are self-starting, take initiative are problem solvers, and most important, are people who live to be creative, and help design the future. Since much of the work we do is creative driven, strong interpersonal skills are an absolute must.
Also if you have blue hair, a fetish, only work barefoot, or other quirks, we like that too.
Specific skills required:
- Strong design talent and aesthetic
- Amazing creativity
- Professionalism and a strong work ethic
- A desire to be part of new “future-focused” company
They should have knowledge and proficiency in the following programs:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Illustrator
- After Effects
The following would be useful but not required:
- Maya
- 3d Studio Max (or any 3d program)
- Flash or shockwave
- Macromedia Director
- HTML
- Final cut pro
Other experience and requirements:
Candidates MUST have INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE and/or BROADCAST GRAPHICS experience. Candidates with both will be given special consideration. Live action, commercial, video game or other relevant experience will be considered and appreciated as a bonus to the above requirement. Background in services, computing/high tech industry, or media/entertainment production or distribution preferred. Design school degree from a well respected school strongly preferred.
Details:
- Compensation depends on experience; but are competitive
- We negotiate weekly rates. While we try to work normal work weeks (m-f) sometimes weekends are requested / expected
- We will consider, based on performance and workflow, migrating some positions into full time staff positions.
