Job Title: Manager, Usability and Design
Salary: £45 - 60,000 depending on experience Start Date: ASAP
Location: London with worldwide travel
My client is a leading global provider of information services and are currently looking to employ a manager for their design and usability unit based in London. The role holder will possess exceptional people and organisational skills, be able to take a more strategic approach and a overseeing perspective when dealing with projects. You will manage a direct team of up to 10 people and also manage HCI experts and designers on a matrix management basis for their overseas offices. Essentially based in London, the role holder will also be able travel overseas for work.
Requirements:
EQUIREMENTS
* Graduate
* Proven experience of people management and allocating
resources to multiple projects
* Superior problem-solving and communication skills
* Previous experience of leading teams, preferably
in the user experience field
* Exceptional project management and organizational skills
* Passion for and experience with user-center design
methodologies and usability practices
* Strong understanding of software development life cycle
(process of specification, design, and implementation)
and engineering concerns that arise in designing and
building interfaces
* Understanding of industry user-interface standards for the
Web, Java, and Windows development environments
* Ability to manage a variety of programs across multiple
disciplines and functional areas
* Willing to travel
PREFERENCES
* International experience
* Foreign languages
* Have managed large, complex international projects with
diverse stakeholders.
* Experience in online publishing, information retrieval and
particularly with legal or business systems
* Previous experience with budget management & control
* Strong technical background
