HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER

ABOUT THE JOB:
Responsibilities: Translate high-level requirements into user interface requirements. Solicit and compile feedback from various internal and external sources. Work with the product development team to define appropriate user interface designs. Develop detailed user interface specifications for use during software design and implementation. Gather and validate end-user needs through appropriate research methodologies (interviews, surveys, on-site visits, etc.). Conduct heuristic evaluations of total product solution (hardware, software, web sites, and documentation). Plan, prepare, and conduct usability evaluations on total product solution.
Requirements: Knowledge of user interface design guidelines and standards for multiple OS platforms. Experience developing prototypes. Demonstrated experience with user-centered design techniques such as user and task analysis, iterative design, storyboarding, and paper prototyping. Experience designing and conducting usability evaluations to validate designs and identify problems (writing scenarios, recruiting participants, observing evaluations, and compiling results). Strong communication skills and experience in traditional software development environment.
Education: Bachelors or Masters in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Information Science or related field with extremely strong technical aptitude. Knowledge of storage industry preferred.
