Job description:
For the past 5 years, SAP has conducted usability tests at ASUG (the American SAP User Group) conferences, both at the main spring conference (roughly 6000 attendees) as well as the smaller fall conferences (between 100 and 500 attendees). SAP organizes and co-promotes the event with ASUG. The usability tests are part of the program for customers to give feedback to SAP and are very highly regarded by ASUG.
The Program Manager (in working together with other people at SAP and at ASUG) is responsible for the planning and execution of these activities. This involves working with 50+ people at SAP in many development groups, as well as the ASUG liaison office and ASUG staff. In the spring we offer roughly 40 test tracks with approximately 250+ test slots. Additionally, this individual may be involved organizing American usability test activities.
We have a person on our group who previously organized this event and who can coach the Program Manager. There is also coaching by the German SAP employee who organized this in the last few years.
Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct the ASUG usability test activities
Maintain budget and project plan
Promote event internally and externally together with ASUG liaison office
Requirements:
Excellent project management skills (planning, budget, resources, timeline, escalation) are mandatory for the success of this role.
Proven communication skills both internally as well as with customers are critical.
The ideal candidate will be highly self-organized and fast-paced
A background in usability, or at least interest to get into the field is highly desired
A broad and at least shallow overview of SAP applications is desired
