e-Learning Instructional Designer
Instructional Designer with a minimum of four years experience in designing Interactive Training programs producing blended e-Learning solutions. Ideally from an educational or training background have a flair for instructional design and have a thorough understanding of e-learning and the integration of blended learning technologies in the provision of education and training. Course Design, Instructional Design, e-Learning, Training Needs Analysis, Interface Design.
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
Our client builds e-learning solutions that improve the performance of people and organisations. They work with partners to provide customisation services for an entire library of e-learning courses to meet precise requirements and offer a full range of e-learning services, from design and development through to deployment and administration of learning materials.
They have experience developing bespoke e-learning courses on a wide range of subjects, from parking contravention codes and corporate taxation through to call centre team leadership and diversity! They develop e-learning materials using a wide range of authoring tools and deploy them online, from CD-ROM or even a mixture of both. Whatever the deployment method, their materials can integrate seamlessly with any AICC or SCORM compliant Learning Management System with a feature-list that include:
chat rooms
bulletin boards
tutor email facilities
comprehensive management reports
e-learning authoring capabilities
ROLE.
As a member of the Development team, you will work with client-side subject matter experts to design and create e-learning solutions. You will help create instructional creative strategies, design and author course content, and work closely with project managers, Web designers and Web producers.
Responsibilities will include:
Consulting with client-side subject matter experts to design e-learning solutions
Writing of course content
Instructional design and developmental editing of course content
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: You will have:
Experience designing and creating self-paced, interactive instructional content; e-learning experience a plus. Ability to assess content design approaches and make effective content design decisions given course parameters. Experience creating instructional plans/course maps.
Excellent writing skills. Experience authoring content from scratch in collaboration with subject-matter experts. Ability to write concisely for the Web.
Strong client consulting/interfacing skills. Ability to guide clients to focus on specific objectives and teaching points.
Strong meeting facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
A thorough understanding of the Web as an instructional medium.
A formal training in the development of instructional material, possibly as a teacher, courseware designer, scriptwriter, corporate/software trainer, technical author or business analysis. Ideally this will include training needs analysis.
A degree in instructional design/technology, learning sciences, or adult education is desirable.
