Overview:

The client has a long history of applying Human Factors expertise to enhance safety in major hazard industries either on direct consultancy or research assignments. As part of the Safety Management Department, we are looking for Human Factors Consultants to be based in Cheshire or Oxfordshire offices.


Job Outline: Human Factors Consultant

The client has a long history of applying Human Factors expertise to enhance safety in major hazard industries either on direct consultancy or research assignments. As part of the Safety Management Department, we are looking for Human Factors Consultants to be based in Cheshire or Oxfordshire offices.


The Human Factors team can deploy assessment and design skills in the following areas:

 Task analysis and human reliability assessment
 Organisational and management systems
 Workplace layout
 The working environment
 Human-machine interface
 Documentation layout and design
 Competence assurance (including selection and training).


Aptitudes and Experience

A typical team member will have some of the following characteristics:

 At least a first degree in Psychology, Ergonomics or relevant subject area and demonstrable competence in at least two of the Technical areas cited above.
 Highly motivated with good communication, presentational and interpersonal skills.
 An interest in industrial processes and procedures.
 An innovative, creative and pragmatic outlook to enable us to deliver effective solutions for our clients
 A willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills
 A willingness to travel and spend time working at client premises.

In addition, an effective Human Factors Consultant will be able to identify and develop sales prospects and suggest ways of developing new or improved 'products' to enhance our portfolio. Awareness of risk assessment methods (eg. hazard analysis methods, probabilistic risk assessment) will also be an advantage. Similarly, Project Management skills would also be desirable.


Remuneration
The salary for these posts is in the range of £25K through to £40K depending on relevant experience.
