Overview:
To provide specialist human factors and ergonomic support by: Working alongside systems and safety engineers on specialist rail projects, for example providing input to safety cases concerned with VDU-based control systems Providing a core Human Factors function with other HF consultants Peer review work carried out by others and third parties Project manage projects where the Human Factor forms the major part of the work
To provide specialist human factors and ergonomic support by:
· Working alongside systems and safety engineers on specialist rail projects, for example providing input to safety cases concerned with VDU-based control systems;
· Providing a core HF function with other HF consultants in the Group;
· Peer review work carried out by others and third parties;
· Project manage projects where the HF forms the major part of the work;
· To assist, as appropriate, in the development of the human factors area of the business.
Requirements:
A general ergonomic practitioner interested in the railway industry, with knowledge and experience in:
· Control room and workstation design;
· Workload Analysis & Task Analysis;
· Human Error Analysis.
Knowledge of the railway industry would be useful but is not essential.
Experience and Qualifications:
Registered Member of the Ergonomic Society, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience of:
· How a specific domain, such as the railway industry, can affect the approach to human factors;
· The application of human factors in a systems environment;
· Project managing small to medium scale human factors projects.
