Human Factors/ Ergonomics Consultant £40,000 This small consultancy business based in North Hampshire comprises of an innovative and commercially minded group of people who have developed new ways of working for its clients. It is growing and has secured contracts for the next three years in the management of large multi-site contracts. A growing number of clients use their systems and the purpose of this job is to assist them to rethink and redevelop their work, people and organisations. The scope of this job is broad but will mainly involve a human-centred approach to working with new and developing systems. The successful applicant will: Analyse clients' systems, processes and tasks; errors, failures and missed opportunities in relation to three distinct areas: help desk, field service operations and administration. Develop and propose better ways of organising clients' staff, work and operating regimes. Develop methods and criteria for assessing clients' staff in a process of 'continuous selection'. Analyse and redesign clients' operations, using operations research tools where appropriate, and present the findings in the form of commercial business plans.. The job carries the title of 'Consultant'. The successful applicant will have authority over and be responsible for all downstream work with a client (i.e after system implementation): for planning, costing, arguing, delivering, and reporting on the work and the results. Education A degree in Human Sciences (e.g Ergonomics or Psychology), Management Studies, or Systems Analysis Experience 1 Must have at least three years' consultancy experience, preferably in a commercial sector with an organisation going through a change process 2 Must have at least five years' experience of business process engineering, or task/systems analysis 3 General business experience.
