Overview:
Human Factors Scientist is required by this leading defence organisation to undertake Human Factors research involving HMI technology development and evaluation and human performance modelling and assessment. Key responsibility areas: Human Machine Interface design and evaluation. Human performance modelling. Human performance assessment. Experimental design. Statistical analysis. Reporting results both in written and verbal form. The ideal candidate will have a first degree in Psychology and will have a thorough understanding of human cognitive processes. He/she will have some knowledge of cognitive modelling and will have had some experience of cognitive task analysis. Expertise with a range of software packages and programming languages will be a distinct advantage (e.g. Visual Basic, Delphi, C, C++, HTML, PHP, MySQL). The successful candidate will report to the leader of the Human Information Processing group within the Human Factors Department. You will be expected to travel to other sites as appropriate.
