Position Summary
WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE), the premier Internet-based business-to-business exchange for retailers and suppliers, is seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Analyst to launch a user-centric design initiative for our WorldSync solution. As a core member of the WorldSync Product Design Team, you will lead an effort to define the next evolution of the WorldSync user experience. Your work will be an important catalyst in the emerging EAN.UCC Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN), one of the most significant supply-chain advancements affecting the world’s largest retailers and CPG manufacturers in the industry today.
As the Senior UX Analyst, you will interpret our client’s business requirements by developing actionable and multi-purpose user models that can be translated into a user-centered design/development deliverables, which ensure end-user adoption and satisfaction. You will focus on user research, use case definition, interaction design and interface design.
As the Senior UX Analyst, you should be able to select and apply a wide range of relevant evaluative, generative, and exploratory research and analytic methods and tools to ensure that cross functional teams develop useful, usable, compelling, and innovative solutions that clients adopt.
With a natural eye for design, you are able to create, communicate, and implement a cohesive visual design strategy across the entire product space..

Responsibilities
- Overseeing/planning/executing user research and analysis projects
(including but not limited to usability evaluations) from inception to implementation
- Partnering with WorldSync Product Management, Development, &
Implementation to understand end-user & business owner requirements and develop conceptual UI prototypes for Web and non-Web applications
- Developing key user research and analysis deliverables within the context
of a structured product development methodology
- Evaluating and analyzing user interfaces (including interaction designs,
information architecture, and presentation patterns) and supporting content and materials based on evaluative user research and testing as well as applications of best practices and intellectual capital
- Collecting business requirements from clients and appropriate
stakeholders, translating findings into a solid solution architecture and design
- Developing innovative user research and analysis methods, tools,
intellectual capital and reusable assets that improve operational excellence, efficiency, and competitive advantage
- Developing organization-wide usability standards and points of reference
- Maintaining awareness of best practices and principles in relevant fields
including human-computer interaction, technology change management, learning, communications, business and work practice design, etc.
- Driving creative design sessions with customers

Skills and Expertise:
- A design portfolio demonstrating a variety of user-centered Web and
non-Web (e.g. Windows) application design solutions
- The ability to champion and evangelize design into product development
processes
- Conducting contextual inquiries, user requirements analysis, and user
modeling (e.g., task, process, and work practice modeling)
- Planning and conducting user assessments including usability tests and
heuristic analyses/expert reviews of interface designs
- Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools
is highly desirable.
- Ability to suggest and develop multiple design solutions to major, complex
design problems
- Expertise in determining technical feasibility of design options
- Expertise in rapidly developing and testing low and high fidelity
technology solution prototypes (across a range of computer
interfaces/devices)
- Knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g., Visual Basic, FrontPage,
DreamWeaver, WYSIWYGs) is a plus.
- Planning and conducting participatory and creative design exercises
- Planning and conducting online surveys
- Tracking and analyzing online behavior (i.e., web analytics)
- People focused, program planning and evaluation (e.g., communications,
learning, change management, etc.)
- Familiarity with object-oriented approaches to software development is
desired
- Familiarity and experience with business process engineering and user task
modeling is a plus
- Familiarity and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) is desired
- Style guide/design checklist creation
- Outstanding skills in interaction design, visual design for software or
Web Services.
- Extensive experience with all primary graphics software and design tools
including Photoshop, DreamWeaver, Illustrator, Flash, HTML, XML, and CSS.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present, explain, negotiate and
monitor design solutions.
- Experience designing products with globalization requirements.
- Experience with e-Catalogs is a plus
Globalization and Language Requirements:
- Previous experience working on product internationalization challenges
- Previous experience working for a global organization or living abroad
- English is required. Multilingual is preferred. (French, Spanish, Korean,
Japanese and/or German)
Education and Experience:
- The Senior UX Analyst must have 3-5+ years in user experience research,
design and/or consulting.
- An MA or MS in behavioral and social sciences (e.g., cognitive psychology,
anthropology, etc.), Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline is desired, but a BA or BS and significant experience will be considered
