Summary
The Flex Development team is looking for a creative and energetic Senior User Experience Designer to revolutionize the next generation of web applications. As a member of the Flex product team you will work closely with others at Macromedia to design innovative and reusable user experience patterns for applications built with Flex and will be responsible for disseminating these patterns to a rapidly growing community of Flex application developers.
Responsibilities
* Design the experience toolkit for next-generation Rich Internet Applications.
* Work with the centralized user experience group to find and create world-class design patterns for these applications.
* Work with the Flex Development team to define application components that implement these patterns.
* Work closely with key customers to ensure their success and gather feedback.
* Publish best-practice white papers on design and application development.
* Help define a successful workflow between designers and Flex developers.
Requirements
* Five or more years working as a professional interface designer with good samples.
* Excellent understanding of basic usability principles and existing application frameworks.
* Seven or more years of information architecture or professional design experience.
* Ability to work comfortably in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia FreeHand, etc.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to take strong leadership in a collaborative way.
* Prior experience creating innovative and successful web experiences.
Ideal
* Industrial design or information architecture background preferred.
* Visual design education preferred.
* Computer Science degree a plus.
* Experience shipping products.
* Previous experience working with cognitive psychologists in CHI a bonus.
* Experience with Macromedia Flash and ActionScript.
