Overview:
Nike, Inc. is looking for a Design IT Strategist for our Portland, OR
World headquarters office. As our Design IT Strategist - Footwear, you'll
provide leadership and vision for design technology strategies and execution
within the Global Footwear Design group, including strategic planning and
integrated implementation of processes that assure maximum efficiency and
productivity throughout the footwear product creation process. You'll
serve as a member of the Footwear Design Leadership team and identify and
articulate the strategic Footwear Design business needs to various systems
groups. You'll also lead efforts to ensure that business requirements are
correctly translated into system requirements.
This opportunity also involves directing the global implementation of new
design technology and processes, remaining apprised of state-of-the-art
computer systems to enhance processes and design execution. You'll document
business requirements, create process maps and validate with business
partners. In addition, you'll orchestrate the evaluation, recommendations,
evolution and exchange of 2D and 3D image-based product information against
operational and business process analysis.
Requirements for the position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Business or a related field
- 8 years' experience, preferably in a design environment
- 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree
- 5 years' management experience
- Proven expertise with design systems, software, hardware and
processes
- Ability to consult with IT consultants, Program Managers and
Vendor IT teams to assess, purchase, interact, resolve and transfer knowledge
Requires an understanding of and previous experience in taking best
practices around processes and evaluating, recommending and implementing the
exchange of 2D and 3D design tools into a design community.
Requires previous experience working in a MAC environment and familiarity
with OS X. Must have a strong knowledge of 3D tools, in particular Alias
Wavefront products (Maya). In addition, requires an understanding of the
following 2D and 3D software tools:
Photoshop
Illustrator
Adobe C/S
Scene 7
Rhino
Free Form
Wildfire
Pro Engineer
Familiarity w/ applications:
Pro-Concept
Power Shape
ProCam
ArtCam
