UI Director
PayPal, an eBay company located in San Jose, CA is looking for a UI Director. Management: Responsible for managing User Research/Usability. Responsible for managing User Interaction and Design. Responsible for scaling the group to deliver on business needs Change: Responsible for helping to move team from the technology organization to the PM organization. Responsible for helping to transition the Designers to a new lifecycle. Responsible for helping to transition the current work performed from proprietary code (maxcode) to new XSL/XML code
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of interface design experience, with an additional 4+ years of design team management.
Preferred educational background should include a BA/BS or MA/MS in Human Computer Interaction or an MFA in Design. Familiarity with the following technologies required: HTML, CSS, XSL, XML, CGI, ASP, JSP (or other similar scripting languages). Knowledge of following tools required: Photoshop, Illustrator, Homesite, CVS. Managing design teams that have worked on large scale localization projects is strongly preferred.
