Usability Engineer

PayPal, an eBay company located in San Jose, CA is looking for a Usability Engineer. Plan, design, and conduct usability evaluations such as usability tests, heuristic evaluations, field studies and competitive analysis during all phases of product development. Work with marketing and product groups to identify user segments and create user profiles. Plan, design, and conduct usability testing in the lab and in the field, both domestically and internationally. Rapidly prototype features for testing in HTML. Analyze data, write reports, and present findings to cross functional teams Evaluate and communicate results of studies and work with designers to come up with design solutions that not only solve the usability issues, but also adhere to site standards and meet the business need

At least 6 years of industry experience conducting usability research
Must have previous experience working with user interface designers
Experience in usability testing of web-based applications and conducting usability test internationally is strongly preferred.
Advanced degree in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Interaction or Human Factors, or other related discipline with a solid foundation in research design using quantitative and qualitative methods.
Ability to rapidly prototype designs in HTML.
