This is a permanent role based in the North West and is paying between 35-40K dependent on experience. Our defence client requires an Human Factors Engineer to develop and lead the implementation of a strategy for the integration of human factors techniques and methods, in a proportionate manner, throughout the nuclear areas of the business.
The key objective being to minimise the potential negative impact of the human contribution to safety and quality.
Key Responsibility Areas
· To develop a strategy for the proportionate integration of human factors methods throughout the business
· Development of a programme for, and lead the implementation of, the
human factors strategy
· Act as the intelligent customer for the specification and procurement of human factors services as required
· Provide HF support for the internal regulation/assurance functions of the nuclear & radiation safety department
· Provide advice on the use/application of HF techniques within complex modern standards nuclear safety cases
The Person
· Highly motivated and articulate
· Capable of strategic thinking and detailed process development
· Team worker
Experience
· Development and use of a wide range of HF techniques/methods
· Experience of the use of HF techniques across the functions of a nuclear engineering operations business
· Specific experience of the development and application of human reliability assessment in nuclear safety cases
· Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment, including dealing with regulators
