Pay rate: $60 - $85 per hour depending on experience
Duration: 25-40 hrs per week for 4-8 weeks, possibly leading to full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION
Bolt | Peters is seeking a talented I.A. with both usability testing and analysis experience that is passionate about helping clients achieve organizational goals through user-centered design. We're looking for an expert in usability who can take on complicated business problems and usability issues and recommend and design highly usable web and/or software interface solutions. This person should be experienced in designing and conducting usability tests as well as creating visual solutions and in some cases designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
.. Gather information on user needs and goals from user research and
meetings with clients.
.. Construct mockups and design rapid prototypes of UI designs,
capturing the flow, page layout and navigation.
.. Design usability tests: write moderator scripts, screeners, and test
plans.
.. Conduct and analyze results of usability tests: develop solutions,
write reports, present to clients, and create videos
.. Analyze, design, and specify architecture for successful user
experiences.
.. Develop conceptual models, process flows, navigational maps, and
strategies.
.. Project management

EXPERIENCE
.. 3+ years experience in usability research
.. Strong project management skills
.. BS/BA required. An advanced degree in HCI, information design,
cognitive science or related field is preferred.
.. Must be skilled at validating and amending the information
architecture and screen design through usability evaluations with end users.
.. Consulting experience strongly preferred.
.. Strong understanding and practice of the fundamentals of social
research and ethnography.
.. Basic familiarity with HTML, DHTML, JavaScript and style sheets.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
.. Strong interest in HCI / Usability / UCD
.. Ability to travel to client locations

.. Strong analytical, organizational, social, and diplomatic skills.
.. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
.. Ability to prioritize and multi-task within tight timelines.
.. Ability to mentor team members and define best practices.
.. Desire to experiment with innovative testing techniques.
.. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
.. Fast typing (50 WPM +)
.. Video editing experience a plus
