We are looking for an experienced interaction designer to join PeopleSoft's Supply Chain Management User Experience team. You will drive a User-Centered Design process and design the user interface of complex Web-based enterprise applications.
The User Experience team is responsible for user research, user interface design, and usability evaluation of PeopleSoft applications. In this role, Interaction Designers work with product management, development, support, documentation, sales, and marketing to create user-centered Web-based enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
Design the user interface of PeopleSoft applications using a user-centered design process.
Work with product management and product development to define product features and functionality.
Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and/or conduct all necessary user-centered design activities and deliverables throughout the product's lifecycle, including user profiles, use cases, user requirements, task analysis, conceptual modeling, cognitive walkthroughs, interaction design, heuristic evaluation, usability testing and other forms of software evaluation.
Design and specify the user interface of the product using iterative design techniques.
Produce storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, wireframes, prototypes, and user interface design specifications.
Present and promote the results of user research, user interface designs, and usability studies to product management and development groups in a way that advances the user-centered design process in the company.
Work closely with development teams to understand engineering constraints and propose the best acceptable design solutions.
Requirements
Advanced degree in computer-human interaction or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience Five years experience or longer in software user interface design; Web-based enterprise applications preferred.
Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and practices and direct professional experience in applying them in a highly technical production environment.
Excellent skills in written and oral communication, strong leadership and organizational skills, solid technical skills.
Prototyping skills, including proficiency in HTML editors and graphics programs; working knowledge of Web technologies such as JavaScript and CSS preferred.
