Verizon Labs is seeking a UI Lead to design, prototype, and evaluate the next generation of features and products for SuperPages.com. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills and extensive experience leading a user-centered design process. You will work with Marketing to help define and specify new products and features, and then work with graphic designers, other members of the UI Group, and software engineers to complete development and implementation.
Requirements:
… 5+ years experience in designing usable, consumer-oriented interfaces for e-commerce web sites
… MS or Ph.D. in human-computer interaction or a related field
… Experience in leading and managing the interface design of complex web-based services
… Prototyping ability and experience with web development tools and technologies (e.g., HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, Photoshop)
… A strong visual design sense, and knowledge of information architecture
… Ability to work effectively with multiple design teams and software engineers
… Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
… Experience with web search technology, especially the UI aspects, is a plus
Good writing and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with a wide range of disciplines in a team setting. Some travel may be required. The ability to deliver high quality results quickly and consistently is assumed.
We work within a 40-member User Centered Design (UCD) Group in Verizon Laboratories. The UCD Group serves as a center of excellence for Verizon's user-centered approach to the definition, design, development, and evaluation of new products and services.
