UI ENGINEER
Description
Mirage Networks, a developer of networks security products, announces and opening for a UI Development Engineer. The UI Engineer will join a team of highly motivated and experienced engineers developing innovative network security products in a start-up environment. Responsibilities include leading the design and development of user applications for a family of high performance network security products; and designing, developing and improving framework user-interface components to be reused by application development teams. Additional responsibilities will include defining interfaces for and integration with underlying business logic. The UI Engineer will also be responsible for researching and recommending UI best practices for incorporation into the Mirage product family.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of UI and applications development experience, a BS or better in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience, and demonstrated abilities in the following areas:
· 5+ years developing application user interfaces
· 3+ years GUI programming in JAVA
· Experience developing scalable management and control interfaces
· Experience developing full-featured, threaded, client-server applications
· Experience developing lighter-weight, browser-based appliance control clients
· Knowledge of networking and common network components
· Knowledge of Linux
Additional preferred skills/abilities include:
· Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., CORBA) and Web services
· Experience with databases and schemas
· Knowledge of network security products such as ISS RealSecure, Cisco NetRanger, or similar products
