Usability Specialist, ADIC

Usability Specialist
Position Location:
Redmond, WA or Denver, CO


Responsibilities:
The Usability Specialist will develop a definition, methodology, and set of tools to support a common user interface to be used across ADIC product lines and will be responsible for driving the usability focus within the company, aligning usability objectives with product teams and management goals. In conjunction with product teams, the Usability Specialist will develop schedules for integration of interface on all ADIC product lines and will work with outside usability / human factors contractors, as needed.

Specific immediate goals include:

- Meet with internal and external customers to identify customer tasks

- Create user roles profiles and task workflows

- Evaluate ADIC current interfaces for hardware and software

- Develop scalable paper prototypes (storyboards) for use across all ADIC products

- Plan and conduct user testing, as appropriate

- Create style guide and developer toolkit

Qualifications:

- Evidence of personal and professional energy, excellence, and experience.

- BS in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or Technical Communications preferred. Education + experience will be considered.

- In-depth knowledge of the principles of usability and human/computer interaction.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to travel, as necessary, to coordinate usability activities across all locations.

- 3+ years experience developing a usability focus for related high-tech industry.

- Strong demonstrated abilities in communication, user interface development, and project management, including:

- Ability to think critically and strategically.

- Ability to drive a usability focus within cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, executive management, etc.) and within the product development)
