JOB: Information Architect at Soho Design Studio (NYC)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Information Architect is a key team member of interactive projects at Funny Garbage (http://www.funnygarbage.com) involved with both business development and projects. When working on business development, Information Architects are key to developing conceptual ideas to propose often translating those ideas into initial site maps and wireframes. When working on a specific project, Information Architects create innovative user experiences by organizing content and developing intuitive interfaces. Information Architects work with both the client and project teams to understand project goals as well as audience and content objectives. From there, conceptual and interface strategies are developed and translated into Prototypes and Functional Specifications. If the project involves a content management system, additional documentation is required for the system and user training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have 3+ years IA experience on a variety of interactive projects with the bulk of experience involving web sites. Experience with content management systems is a preferred plus. You should hold a degree in a related field such as design, architecture, cognitive sciences or technical communications and have excellent oral, written and visual communication skills. Familiarity with Visio and Dreamweaver is a must -- as is attention to detail.
