Information Architect (contract position) Starwood Hotels & Resorts White Plains, NY


Starwood Hotels & Resorts is looking for an information architect to work with our creative team on upcoming projects. The position is contract, working remotely and on-site at our offices in White Plains, New York as the project requires.
White Plains is 45 minutes north of New York City, easily accessible by public transportation.

As an information architect at Starwood Hotels you will have the opportunity to work with the strategy, creative and technology teams to improve the user experience for all of Starwood's websites (Westin, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, W Hotels, Luxury Collection, St. Regis and more!)

Responsibilities include the following:

- Define and document site navigation, process flows, page level interaction and functionality.
- Employ user-centered design processes to ensure that Starwood websites are useful and usable.
- Work with the strategy team to conduct user research and analyze site metrics.
- Help define and document functional requirements.

Requirements:

- A degree in a related field such as psychology, human-computer interaction or library science.
- Experience conducting/observing user research and translating user research into design decisions.
- 2-3 years experience developing digital products.
- Able to effectively communicate ideas to project stakeholders.
- Experience in the travel industry, e-commerce, insurance or financial services a plus.
