Interaction Designer

LowerMyBills.com, http://www.lowermybills.com/, the premier online service for consumers to compare and lower bills, seeks an Interaction Designer to join its Consumer Experience team. This position reports to the Director of Consumer Experience, and works closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Engineering, Visual Designers, and Quality Assurance.

The ideal candidate will be an analytic problem solver who can synthesize many forms of research and business requirements into conversion-producing application features and designs.

We are looking for a strong communicator with recent experience at a B2C E-commerce or Membership Model company creating prototypes and functional requirements, designing A/B tests, analyzing performance results, and managing web-based technology projects.

The Interaction Designer is responsible for evaluating LowerMyBills.coms web-based applications for usability and conversion improvement opportunities. The individual in this role will gather and organize conversion ideas from sources including Product Management, Customer Service, competitive research, industry best practices and internal brainstorming. Another key responsibility is translating research and ideas to executable features and tests by developing applications flows, wireframes and prototypes using rapid prototyping tools such as Photoshop, HTML, Visio and Flash.

The Interaction Designer is responsible for developing written functional and design specifications for LowerMyBills web-based products. This position communicates with Engineering, Quality Assurance and Project Management to plan and execute tests and product enhancements. Other key duties include coordinating A/B tests, user sessions and usability tests, and then organizing and analyzing the research findings.

The successful candidate will have experience conducting usability research and providing analysis with a focus on conversion. The Interaction Designer must be accustomed to developing use cases and scenarios. Other required skills include experience with wireframe, application flow development, prototype construction and form design. The individual in this role must be comfortable with writing functional and design specifications. The successful candidate will have experience with user-centered design, A/B test methodologies and technology project management.
