University of Illinois Institute of Aviation Head, Aviation Human Factors Division and Full/Associate Professor in Human Factors
The Institute of Aviation at the University of Illinois is seeking candidates at the associate or full professor level for the full-time position of Head, Aviation Human Factors Division. The division offers a baccalaureate degree in aviation human factors in conjunction with the Professional Pilot Division, and a master’s degree in Human Factors. Ph.D. level research is typically coordinated with other campus units, such as the Department of Psychology, the Beckman Institute of Science and Technology and the College of Engineering. A non-funded appointment within the Beckman Institute would be available.
Specific duties include:
In addition to the administrative responsibilities of heading the unit of 8 academic faculty members, the candidate will be expected to maintain a program of externally funded research, contribute to teaching in the human factors curriculum, and help coordinate the campus interdisciplinary human factors program which includes research in cognitive aging, health care, human computer interaction and highway safety.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a distinguished research record in human factors, along with a demonstrated history of research contributions to aviation human factors.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
