Summary
Macromedia is searching for a world-class interface and user experience expert to work with the Macromedia Consulting Team (MC) on strategic third-party engagements. A candidate's portfolio must demonstrate a broad depth of experience with emphasis on application, and user-interface design, while leveraging rich clients in innovative ways. The Sr. UI Architect will work with the MC user experience and engineering teams to create innovative rich client applications targeted at the web, mobile phones and other devices. The ideal candidate needs to be part interaction designer, part information architect, part usability expert, part business analyst, and all about user experience.
Responsibilities
* Work with clients and the MC team to translate business problems,
and requirements into compelling UI's that demonstrate the power and value of the rich internet application experience
* Lead the user interface design phases of product development
projects, in coordination with visual designers and engineers
* Create cutting-edge, highly usable interfaces for a variety of
applications.
* Create prototypes
* Develop usability protocols and moderate user studies
* Conduct on-site client research
* Create robust documentation of designs
* Work closely with key customers to ensure their applications
adhere to the highest standards of usability and design
* Self-manage their own tasks, and schedules
* Promote a constructive environment for idea exploration and
creativity
* Up to 25% travel
Requirements
* Five or more years working as a professional interface designer
with a stunning portfolio full of innovative thinking
* Keen understanding of basic usability principles and existing
application frameworks
* Seven or more years of information architecture or professional
design experience
* Excellent communication skills and ability to take strong
leadership in a collaborative manner
* Prior experience creating innovative and successful product
interfaces and web applications
Ideal
* Industrial design or information architecture background preferred
* Experience with Macromedia Flash and ActionScript
