EFI is looking for a talented user interface designer for its Product Design group. As a UI designer, you will be working closely with product managers, engineers and other designers to design and prototype elegant interface solutions for EFI software products through user-centered design process.
• You have strong conceptualization skills and ability to articulate design concepts and solutions verbally and in various written documents
• You are able to work independently with minimal direction
• You proactively seek feedback from other designers while providing recommendations to complex usability problems
• You enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
• You are comfortable taking on a design lead role for the projects assigned and being responsible for the integrity of your design throughout the development cycle
You will be responsible for:
• developing concepts and user models, designing and prototyping usable interfaces that accurately translate the vision and requirements of the product
• creating information architecture, functional diagrams, design guidelines, wireframes and screen mock-ups
• developing extensible, efficient and optimal interface design by being sensitive to and understanding the underlying technology
• ensuring the quality and integrity of the design during the implementation stage
Qualifications:
1. Relevant educational background in user interface design
2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in designing desktop or Web-based applications
3. Proficient in developing information architecture, interaction design and visual design
4. Must demonstrate interface design ability with proven methodology
5. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
6. Proficient in Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, Dreamweaver or equivalent tools, and other basic prototyping tools
7. Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
8. Familiarity with the Windows or Macintosh user interface Guidelines a plus.
