Human Factors Engineer, Aquilen Inc.

We have an opening for an HFE on a large, Washington, DC-based web project.

Description
Human Factors Engineer (HFE) will lead or support wide range of usability projects for major public sector client. Will work closely with the user experience team, project leads, clients, and third party HFEs, on web-based applications and content area redesigns.

- Plan and conduct exploratory testing (e.g., card sorts, labeling, content
prioritization)
- Plan and conduct paper prototype testing
- Lead or support in-lab testing of functional or clickable prototypes
- Coduct or support focus groups and other research to identify, understand, and prioritize user needs and workflows
- Occasionally recruit and screen usability test participants

Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with user experience, business and technical audiences
- Stong facilitation, analytical, interviewing and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of usability techniques including test facilitation, qualitative user research, heuristic evaluation, paper prototyping, comparitive testing, focus groups, cognitive walkthroughs, task analysis, conceptual design, and competitive analysis
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- BA/BS degree required, preferably in a related field (e.g., Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction) with at least 5-7 years of Usability or Human Factors experience or equivalent
- Masters-level work or HFE certification (e.g., Certified Human Factors Professional, Certified Usability Analyst) preferred
