Information Architect – Senior Consultant
Overview:
Senior level information architect (IA) with the ability to assist in selling, planning and leading the IA component of large complex client engagements. Candidate must have prior lead experience and be capable of leading the front-end development aspects of the project (IA, Visual Design, Development) and interfacing regularly with the client. Candidate must be able and willing to do “hands on” IA tasks as well as functioning as a team lead. IA must be able to work closely with the visual design, functional and technical teams to construct a clear and consistent user experience relevant to the perceived audience needs. The primary responsibility of the senior level IA is to assure that the application satisfies the expectations for utility and ease of use, while supporting associated business requirements and goals..
Responsibilities:
- Lead workshops with business owners and users - Determine the organization and structure of the information and functionality in a website from the user's perspective and how the information and functionality are accessed through navigation. - Support technical and visual designer by prototyping concepts and assist with scope projects - Perform expert review based on usability heuristics or rules by usability professional and produces reports highlighting key findings and recommendation. - Planning and completion of user test with “real” users of a prototype of finished concept - Generates a full report indicating key findings and recommendations. - Develops personas and fictional “scenarios” of user interaction. - Develops site map indicating navigation and content relationships from the user perspective. - Develops schematics, which indicate elements and rough layout of each page as black and white wireframes and interface and functional processes are shown step by step. - Creates and populates content matrix showing all content elements, relationships and dependents. - Leads the builds HTML or Flash prototype to show user click-through - Determine labels for navigation and consider depth and breadth of site structure. - Contribute to defining the organization's user interface and usability guidelines and standards. - May conduct user research and analysis. - May plan, conduct, and document usability testing. - Communicate with external clients to gather information or review designs. - UML desirable but not necessary
Experience:
Candidate must have 4 – 6 years experience and have lead the IA component of 3 large web development projects.
