Design the user experience for eBay, the world's online marketplace! The UI Design team works with the user community and business to understand needs and opportunities. We design global products that serve users and exceed business goals. We create a long-term user experience vision that addresses current and future needs and opportunities. We also initiate strategies that move us toward that vision.

At eBay, our goal is to provide a global online trading platform where practically anyone can trade practically anything with anyone else around the world. At eBay, you will:
* Create world-class designs that benefit eBay's 114 million
users.
* Enable eBay buyers to find just the items they want out of the
over 1 billion items available per year. (eBay users conduct over 200 million searches per day.)
* Enable eBay sellers to run their business successfully and
effectively. (In the US alone, over 400,000 people make their living selling on eBay.)

eBay seeks a Lead UI Designer with a successful track record of web UI design experience. In this position you will:
* Analyze, design, and specify the architecture for successful user experiences.
* Perform user and task analysis.
* Develop conceptual models, process flows, navigational maps, and strategies.
* Construct rapid prototypes, mockups, and interaction requirements specifications.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve the website.
* Negotiates and exchanges information with all levels of management
* Coaches teams on working effectively towards a common goal.
* Creates and drives site-wide user experience strategies or across multiple broad areas of the site.
* Ensures teams consistently achieve stakeholders' goals and deliver excellent results.
* Identifies, recommends, and drives improvements that make Product's processes more efficient and effective.
* Ensures that teams understand, leverage, influence, and communicate new technology and techniques that improve user experience results and eBay processes.
* Ensures all projects in their area deliver user experiences that meet the short- and long-term needs of the eBay business
* Champions the user experience vision throughout the company.

Qualifications:
* At least 8 years of UI design experience or have lead design intensive projects for high-traffic websites, e-commerce services, or relevant consumer software applications.
* Bachelor's or higher degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science or related field, Masters degree preferred
* Excellent leadership and communications skills.
* Excellent and demonstrable web UI design skills, and ability to show relevant work.
* Excellent computer skills, including design and HTML tools.
* Ability to work as part of a team with Product Managers, Creative Designers, Usability Engineers, and others.
* Solid HTML skills; Javascript a plus.
* Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage your work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
* Ability to lead a team of designers working across multiple projects.
