This is an excellent opportunity for a Usability Engineer to make a
big impact on the design and development of cutting-edge
software applications. Working in a multi-disciplinary team you
will use usability techniques to identify key customer profilers,
paper-prototype designs, design applications, measure
applications' usability and shape the implementation of the
designs.
Red Gate Software are a growing, profitable, software company with
thousands of customers and hundreds of thousands of users. A key
element of our success is our commitment to usability. By
developing simple, usable, well designed, high quality software
tools, we have become the market leader in our field. In the next
few months we will be starting work on several new products and
are looking to hire a full-time, permanent, usability expert to make
sure the products are designed and implemented well.
As a usability specialist at Red Gate you will:
Be an important part of a talented multi-disciplinary team
Strongly influence products, from design through to implementation
and beyond
Carry out usability evaluations, interviews, prototyping and other
usability activities

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
A good relevant undergraduate (2:1 or higher) or postgraduate degree
in a relevant discipline (eg psychology or HCI but not graphic design)
A passion for usability
At least 1-2 years experience in industry, preferably working with
software
Broad experience in usability
