Location: Durham, North Carolina

Major Responsibilities: The Web Information Architect is responsible for designing navigation, labeling, searching and organization systems for web applications development; providing usability engineering direction; and leading user interaction design throughout the web applications development lifecycle. Works closely with the business, application systems analysts, developers and end users to develop and improve web site and software experience, usability and functionality.

Job Requirements: Bachelor or technical degree required and three years of experience in web information architecture and/or development of web sites in a professional development environment. Must have knowledge of user interface design principles, human factors, user centered design processes, interaction design guidelines, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards and software development. Must have the ability to design navigation, labeling, searching and organization systems for web applications development, to conduct user experience testing, to conceptualize information systems design and translate into interface requirements and make design recommendations based on usability findings and standard design practices. Experience with HTML and diagramming tools such as Visio a plus. Good analytical, organizational, facilitation and communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications required. Must be self-disciplined, flexible and adaptable.
