HUMAN FACTORS SPECIALIST - MOTOROLA INC.
Motorola a leading supplier of hand-held and mobile telecommunications products, has a permanent, full-time opportunity available for a Human Factors Specialist in its Design Integration Group.
We are in need of an experienced, world-class, Human Factors/Ergonomics specialist to help design innovative next generation wireless and mobile telecommunications products and systems.
The majority of the work will be centered on wireless (two-way radio, integrated cellphone/radio products, WAP enabled devices etc.) and mobile information appliances, intelligent assistants, voice and data terminals.
These devices deliver a wide range of services from voice communications, e-commerce, information-related transactions, and entertainment. As a Human Factors specialist you will be challenged to innovate beyond the current state of the art as you provide world class consultancy to elegantly harness human perceptual, cognitive and physical abilities with the functions of the product.
Qualifications and Experience
=============================
• You will hold a degree in Human Factors/Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, or Interaction Design.
• You will preferably have three or more years of industry experience as a hands-on Human Factors practitioner and usability evaluation specialist.
However, if you have had considerable experience as an intern in a product development environment we would also like to hear from you.
• You will have a deep understanding of Human Behavioural sciences (demonstrable by current experience, training and course-work).
Responsibilities and Skills
===========================
• You will conduct Human Factors evaluations, consultations, and iterative usability testing throughout the product development cycle, providing actionable recommendations directly to designers, marketing and engineers.
• You will be self-motivating and take leadership and ownership of the Human Factors and Usability aspects of products being developed
• You will establish yourself as a direct consultant to Product Planning teams
• You will integrate seamlessly into a multidisciplinary team that includes Human Factors/Ergonomics, Psychologists and Cognitive Scientists, User Interaction designers and Industrial Designers.
• You will demonstrate the ability to deliver to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.

• You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills • You will speak English fluently • You will have the ability to present your analyses and design recommendations in a compelling manner.

We are currently in the process of creating a new Design Integration Center with a state of the art usability lab and industrial design studio where you would work hand-in-hand with Industrial Designers, Engineers and Marking experts to design and test world class handheld products. The job position will be located in Singapore and work closely with our design studio in Penang, Malaysia.
