Information Architect, Fluid, Inc.

Fluid, Inc., an established, innovative, and profitable interactive design & development firm in San Francisco, is in **immediate** need of an information designer/architect.

Working under our Director of Information Design and Usability, you will be collaborating on small project teams with software engineers, visual designers, interactive media (client-side) engineers, and artists to create innovative user experiences for an array of projects ranging from e-commerce to data visualization.

Specific tasks: interface solution concepting, site/product architectures, user personas, user flows/use-case scenarios, and wireframes/schematics.

We are initially looking for a contractor for a 90- to 120-day project.
We will be filling this position FT in the very near future.

Who We're Looking For
-------------------------------------------------
- A motivated, inquisitive junior- to mid-level information
designer/architect eager to build experience with a seasoned team of
professionals.
- Supervised experience in producing wireframes/schematics and site
architecture diagrams for complete sites and applications (rather than
working on components or sub-sections.)
- A Bay Area local who can work on-site if needed and attend in-person
reviews.
- Educational background in a related field; may be design, information
science, library science, engineering, psychology, HCI, etc. - but the
candidate's current skill set is more important than previous jobs or
coursework.

- Strong conceptual design skills
- Creative problem solving
- Rapid storyboarding
- Amazing attention to detail
- Experience with multi-disciplinary teams and working effectively
as a team-member
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to produce deliverables and project work without constant
oversight
- Sense of humor
- Understanding of the disciplines of:
- Information Architecture
- Information Design
- Interaction Design
- User-centered / User Experience Design
- Usability theory and best practices
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Visio 2003

Desired:
- Conceptual design experience
- User testing experience
- Ability to create rapid prototypes
- E-commerce experience
- Optional tool knowledge: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator,
Macromedia Flash MX 2004, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia
Freehand, Omni Graffle
