Job description:
Information Architect is responsible for maximizing brand loyalty, equity, revenue growth and profitability. Success hinges on understanding user behavior, needs and motivations, designing relevant win-win solutions, and developing and implementing customer experience programs and platforms that will deliver higher brand awareness, market share and industry leading total customer experience.
The current position is with a Customer Experience team that is chartered to define strategies and tactics for HP's award-winning Internet presence,
including:
* Setting the general brand, visual and interaction standards for HP's Internet experience.
* Leading site design and information architecture for major site areas across HP.com using a user-centered design approach.
* Managing the process of developing an information architecture from research and conceptual design to planning and production for assigned site areas.
* Helping drive strategic priorities in making HP's Internet experience industry-leading.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science,
Information Systems, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
* Strong information architecture and interaction design expertise.
* Demonstrated ability in leading information architecture/web design
projects from conceptualization to production.
* Significant experience working with highly interactive (e.g.,
Flash-based, rich Internet applications) or transactional systems (e.g.,
eCommerce, travel).
* Significant experience analyzing user needs such as user task
analysis, persona analysis, and ability to transform this to design
requirements.
* Significant experience creating and/or managing the creation of design
deliverables such as scenarios, use cases, work or task flows,
wireframes, interaction rules, and prototypes.
* Significant experience with conducting/managing quantitative and
qualitative user research.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
working equally well with the extraction of both business and user
requirements and their translation into design and technical
deliverables.
* A strong understanding of Internet technologies including e-commerce,
client-server, and front-end technologies like HTML, XML, JavaScript,
DHTML, CSS, and XSL a definite plus.
* Demonstrable leadership skills, consulting, communication, teamwork,
ability to work autonomously, tolerance of ambiguity, analytical,
influence and persuasion, decision making/problem solving, flexibility,
creativity, initiative, interpersonal, presentation and sales skills,
project management.
* Proficiency with HTML page creation tools and graphic tools such as
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
