The Microsoft Windows User Experience team is seeking a seasoned Studio Manager/Producer to make the personal computer more powerful, engaging, and rewarding to use. As a member of this team, you will work alongside some of the world’s most talented product designers, usability specialists, and software developers to build the next generation of the Windows operating system. You will provide project management leadership and coordinate resources to ensure that the designs meet demanding quality standards, and you will drive this work through the software development process. You will collaborate with teams across the company to ensure we maintain industry leadership, delivering innovative, exciting and emotionally engaging products.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Oversee the planning and tracking of the team’s deliverables, work items, specifications, assets and resources,
• Define and manage internal team projects and tools,
• Be the point-of-contact for all other product and design teams across Microsoft,
• Investigate the needs and requirements for new projects. Act as liaison to other development efforts,
• Support Design, Development, Usability, Produce Management and Testing teams so that specifications and assets are always current and easily accessible,
• Work with Development to bring shipping code into alignment with design specifications
Qualifications include a 4-year degree in industrial design, interaction design, or related field, plus candidates must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a project management or producer role for large scale software products, web services or multimedia applications. Highly developed creative direction or visual design skills and experience are an asset. Experience designing with usability engineers and integrating user research throughout the design process is expected. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
