Usability Consultant, Usability by Design

THE ROLE:
Usability by Design Limited is looking for an experienced Usability Consultant. Experience in the field of Accessibility will also be extremely well regarded. This should include awareness of the relevant accessibility standards and their practical application.
The role will be based at our London offices and will start within the next month or two depending on availability. Salary is market leading and negotiable depending on the right candidate.
You will be responsible for end-to-end project execution which typically involves:
7 Attending project kick off meetings with
clients project planning and initiation
7 Conducting the research or design exercise
e.g. usability tests, card sort activity.
7 Analysis of findings and writing of detailed
reports (including proposed solutions)
7 Presentation of results to client
Likely tasks or responsibilities will include the
following:
7 usability testing
7 web accessibility auditing (WCAG v1.0
guidelines) and strategy
7 web accessibility user interviews
7 user requirements gathering
7 user and task analysis
7 card sort exercises
7 site mapping
7 storyboarding and wire frames
7 low/high fidelity prototyping (interactive
jpeg/gif and html formats)
7 focus groups
7 heuristic evaluation
ABOUT YOU:
Above all else you will be enthuastic about the user experience. Initiative, confidence and personability with clients are a must.
You will have at least 4 years of extensive usability expertise having dealt with websites / web applications and ideally with hand-held/mobile devices or interactive television.
A qualification in Design, Human-Computer-Interaction (or similar field) will be very well regarded though a lack of one will not exclude the right person.
