Responsibilities:
Lead Visual Designer will be responsible for:
* Create a visual language for our desktop and web-based products and
will drive implementation of that language using his/her own design
skills as well as contractors and junior designers.
* Drive the development and documentation of visual design standards
and templates.
* Work collaboratively in multiple cross-functional teams with
interaction designers, user researchers, engineering, product
management, marketing, and senior management.
* Will be involved in decisions concerning the product offerings and
will be responsible for product design throughout the product life
cycle.
* Responsible for developing and refining design concepts, producing
prototypes for evaluation and communication, developing design
specifications, and advocating the designs through the implementation
process.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior designers.
Qualifications:
The Lead Visual Designer will need to demonstrate several sets of skills and experience including:
* Expert visual design skills
* Expert proficiency with popular software tools including Photoshop,
Fireworks, Illustrator, and Flash
* Experience in providing Art Direction working with junior visual
designers and contractors
* Extensive experience in software development including web and
desktop application design
* Team leadership
* Cross-functional teamwork
* Decision making
* Working with senior management
