Web Services Leader
The Emory University Libraries seeks a Web Services Leader to provide leadership for the ongoing development of the library s public web site in support of research and teaching activities.
The library's web design is developed in concert with multiple campus library web sites. Key responsibilities for the Web Services Leader include:
" leading the library s public web efforts " working with staff across the library to identify needs and establish priorities for web activities " providing oversight for the information architecture of the site " developing web authoring standards and guidelines " developing innovative public web services and systems within an established technical infrastructure " training content authors throughout the library " supervising student assistants and temporary staff web developers " establishing functional requirements for web applications development " conducting usability studies, and " working closely with the Library Systems Administration & Development Team.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Advanced degree, either in library/information science or human- computer interaction, or related area; demonstrated leadership ability and diplomacy skills; proven technical project management ability in a team environment; thorough understanding of the research and instructional needs of faculty and students; strong user-focused service orientation; and experience with the design, development, and management of web sites. Preferred: Relevant experience in an academic or research library; demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in web technology and web authoring or development tools; knowledge of web related best practices and issues relevant to research libraries; and experience documenting procedures, using dynamic web content systems and conducting usability studies.
