Responsible for creating user-centric web site and web application architectures that are intuitive, and easy to use. Provide customers, internal stakeholders, and creative/technical project teams with insight and ideas to create positive user experiences. Act as an advocate for the user, creating structures that help users accomplish their goals quickly and easily.Responsible for managing web projects through all phases of development, including gathering user inputs and feedback, analyzing and documenting business requirements, developing workflows/wireframes/mockups, writing and presenting proposals, planning projects, directing stakeholder meetings, and coordinating with the technical team through the development, testing, and launch phases. This position has a significant impact on shaping the user experience for clients portfolio of large-scale e-commerce websites. Must have significant experience in cognitive design, information architecture, and user-centered design.Must have significant experience leading large-scale web design and development projects (ideally involving the creation and launch of major e-commerce B2B websites).
Essential functions include:
. Requirements definition and documentation . Work with customers and client stakeholders to understand and define business requirements.
. Work directly with creative teams to develop intuitive user interfaces.
. Work directly with technologists to develop use cases and functional specifications documents.
. Author/Co-Author detailed project specification documents which may include the following:
. Site Maps
. Process Flows
. Task Paths
. Page Architectures (Wire frames, Schematics) . Research Findings and Recommendations . Position Statements/Point of View Documentation . Develop organizational models, navigation, and taxonomy . Solicit, gather, and analyze, user input and requirements . Identify and involve key stakeholders . Perform usability testing . Organize and lead focus groups . Perform field user observation . Author and compile surveys . Identify and interview internal/external individuals who possess deep knowledge regarding a specific aspect of a project . Management of all customer facing web projects . Track project issues and drive their resolution . Create project status reports and deliver status updates to stakeholders and project participants . Coordinate and facilitate internal and external meetings and reviews . Assist in project prioritization and discussion of trade-offs . Work to continually improve our project processes . Coordinate development of projects with technical and creative teams . Manage and develop budgets and schedules . Resource tracking and asset management . Act as lead representative for Web Development team with regards to web projects . Meet regularly with the IS Lead Projects Manager and the IS Finance representative to review status for new and existing projects . As business response projects arise - meet with sponsors, gather requirements, author spec document, and collaborate with I/S to achieve its implementation . Interface with technical project managers and teams . Collaborate with counterparts in I/S (technical project manager) and development resources to create and validate business requirements and project specification documents . Strategic . Assist the Director of Web Development to establish web projects best practices process . Contribute to the creation of a 2-3 year design/development roadmap for the clients website . Contribute to new business pursuits through presentations and written documentation such as competitive reviews . Contribute to strategy sessions with competitive, environmental and landscape reviews
Required Skills:
. Significant experience leading large scale web projects (ideally involving the creation and launch of major e-commerce B2B websites).
. Significant knowledge and experience in cognitive design, information architecture and user-centered design.
. An advanced degree or other certification in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Design, or similar field of study, is a plus.
. Experience working with creative and technical project teams.
. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including experience in qualitative user testing.
. Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, MS Excel as well as Project Management, Time Tracking tools.
. Mastery of the capabilities of web technologies.
. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
. The ability to use effective communication skills to maintain and develop working relationships with our creative, technical and stakeholder teams is essential.
